CIF Bids Awarded for Courtlands
The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is an annual bidding round for eligible academies, sixth-form colleges and VA schools to apply for capital funding. The priority for the fund is to address significant condition need, keeping education provider buildings safe and in good working order. This includes funding projects to address health and safety issues, building compliance and poor building condition.
Josie Medforth, COO headed up our CIF bid applications and we are delighted to announce that both CIF bids put in for Courtlands were successful and will see the best part of £700,000 being spent on the school.
This includes replacing all the old metal framed windows and doors with thermal efficient, safe double glazing. The second bid to replace the fire alarm and new emergency lighting throughout was also successful.
Spread across both bids is approximately £200,000 worth of asbestos removal which is a massive bonus and will significantly reduce the risk to pupils and staff.
Our Estates team will be working with our contractors over the next couple of weeks to see what can be delivered in the summer break where possible, however it is noted that this will be a real challenge due to the late results from the DfE.
Well done to all those involved in securing this funding!
